Environmental Services Program Manager

The George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) is seeking an Environmental Services Program Manager, who under limited supervision by the Deputy Director or their designee, is responsible for overseeing daily operations of projects within the Environmental Services Program of the GWRC. GWRC’s current efforts related to environmental services include Chesapeake Bay Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP III) coordination and implementation, Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program coordination, GWRC Septic Relief Program implementation, Hazard Mitigation Plan coordination, Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) coordination, and participation in other related efforts, including those related to the Potomac, Rappahannock, and York river basins.

Program Coordinator I/Office Coordinator

The George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) is seeking a Program Coordinator I/Office Coordinator to provide support to GWRC as a whole as well as across multiple programs, with a concentration on assisting with office management, human resources, finance/procurement, meeting scheduling and organizing, communications, and record-keeping.

VHA-GWRC Affordable Housing VISTA

Virginia Housing Alliance’s (VHA) AmeriCorps VISTA project is a statewide intermediary project with 18 Host Sites, all that either work to expand affordable housing opportunities and/or end homelessness throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. VHA’s VISTA project aims to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, suitable living environments, and expansive economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. This listing is to fill the Host Site opening at The George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) located in Fredericksburg, VA. The VISTA member will act as a liaison between the Commission, the localities, and community partners to improve consensus and collaboration around affordable housing efforts while evaluating current affordable housing efforts and determining areas for improvement.

FAMPO PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT/TITLE VI COORDINATOR I

The Public Involvement/Title VI Coordinator develops and implements programs that communicate and enhance the exchange of information and ideas between all members of the Region, including the area’s social, economic, racial, and ethnic groups as well as the decision makers involved in each of the metropolitan transportation planning and programming areas. The employee must have the ability to design and write clear communication pieces for a variety of audiences and effectively leverage existing and new communication tools and technology. The employee must exercise independent judgment and initiative and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with city/county staff, elected and appointed officials, media, other government organizations, civic groups and the general public. At times, the Public Involvement/Title VI Coordinator may be asked to assist with more typical transportation planning tasks such as data collection, analysis, and participation in drafting planning documents.
