Notice of Public Hearing
George Washington Regional Commission Comprehensive Economic Development Plan
The George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) is pleased to announce the release of its Comprehensive Economic Development Plan (CEDS) for public review and comment. In accordance with the requirements set forth by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), the CEDS will be available for a 30-day statutory review period, from October 31, 2025, until November 30, 2025.
During this period, the GWRC is asking for all residents, businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders to review the proposed plan and provide comment and feedback. The CEDS outlines a strategic vision and identifies regional economic development opportunities and provides recommendations to local jurisdictions on how to work together to achieve these common economic development goals. Your insights and perspectives are crucial in ensuring that the plan accurately reflects the needs and aspirations of our diverse economic landscape. Input from community members is a crucial part of developing this strategic plan.
If you prefer to provide public comment in person, a public meeting will be held on Monday, November 24th, 2025 at 5:00 pm at the GWRC office.
The CEDS document can be accessed online here or in person at the George Washington Regional Commission Office located at 406 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Comments and suggestions can be submitted electronically through this form or e-mailed to econdev@gwregion.org. For more information about the CEDS process, visit here.
