George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) SMS Messaging Terms and Conditions
Overview
The George Washington Regional Commission (GWRC) provides SMS text message notifications as a service to inform subscribers about important updates, programs, events, or other relevant information. By subscribing to our SMS service, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
No Unsolicited Messages
GWRC will never send unsolicited text messages. Messages are sent only to individuals who have opted in to receive SMS notifications.
Opt-In Consent
By opting in to GWRC SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages from GWRC. Opting in can be done via verbal or written authorization.

Service Limitations
GWRC is not responsible for any delays or failures in message delivery that may occur due to technical issues or carrier limitations.

Duty to Notify
You verify that the mobile number provided to us is accurate and that you are the current owner or have permission to use the number given. Should your contact telephone number change, you agree to notify us before the change goes into effect by emailing us at gwrc@gwregion.org.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify GWRC or any of our affiliates for any privacy, tort or other claims, including claims under the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act or any state law equivalents, including claims relating to your voluntary provision of a telephone number that is not owned by you and/or your failure to notify us of any changes in your mobile telephone number. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any and all such claims, losses, liability, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees).
Miscellaneous
You warrant and represent to GWRC that you have all necessary rights, power, and authority to agree to these Terms and perform your obligations hereunder, and nothing contained in this Agreement or in the performance of such obligations will place you in breach of any other contract or obligation. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated.
Changes to Terms
GWRC reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on our official website. Continued use of the SMS service indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
