Rural Technical Advisory Committee
A Voice for the Rural Counties in Planning District 16About the Committee
The Rural Technical Advisory Committee (RTAC), GWRC’s first advisory subcommittee, was established in March of 2025 to foster greater communication among the rural counties, VDOT and GWRC staff and to provide a greater voice for rural needs in regional transportation. The committee provides a forum to facilitate rural transportation planning and mobility initiatives and advises the GWRC Board.
The RTAC is comprised mostly of planning staff, engineers, and other professionals representing rural localities and government agencies. Currently, the committee meets quarterly on Thursdays at 2 p.m. at the Port Royal Town Hall, 419 King Street, Port Royal, Virginia, 22535
